Eastwood Senior Wrestlers

The Eastwood Senior Night was a great success and Eastwood battled to a 41-40 win over Maumee! Thank you to everyone who came out to show your support.

Senior Spotlight

157# For Josh, it's not just his weight class that matters—it's the nearly 100 pounds he's shed through sheer determination. In three years of wrestling, Josh has rewritten his own story, transforming both body and spirit through relentless dedication.

While others count victories, Josh measures success differently. His greatest triumph isn't marked by medals but by milestones of personal growth. Next fall, he'll take that same determination to the University of Toledo, where he plans to pursue a career in sales.

138# Gavin embodies the spirit of dedication. As team captain and twelve-year veteran of the sport, he's grown from a novice wrestler into a natural leader. When asked about his greatest accomplishment, he doesn’t speak about medals or victories. Instead, Gavin speaks of the daily grind—showing up, pushing through, and leading by example every time he steps onto the mat.

"The life lessons I've learned through wrestling will stay with me forever," he says. While his future lies in the trades, wrestling will remain part of his story. He plans to return to Eastwood as a coach, passing along the wisdom he's gained to future generations. When expressing gratitude, Gavin speaks of his father, Pete Flores: "Dad, you've pushed me every day to be my best, standing by my side through thick and thin. You mean more to me than you'll ever know."

190# Team captain Connor Norton steps onto the mat carrying twelve years of wrestling experience on his shoulders. His high school career tells a story of consistency: four varsity letters and a winning record that spans every season.

Connor's ambitions stretch beyond the wrestling room. With plans to pursue a business degree followed by an MBA, he approaches his future with the same intensity he brings to every match. Connor expresses his gratitude for his parents who have always supported him and been by his side throughout his whole wrestling career. He would also like to thank all of his coaches and teachers over the years for helping to mold him into the person he is today.

285# Heavyweight Colton represents the heart of the team. Through twelve years in the sport, he's proven that leadership isn't just about personal achievement—it's about lifting others up. Whether cleaning mats after practice or helping set up biddy tournaments, Colton is always willing to give a helping hand.

His proudest moment came last year when he qualified for districts, but his impact extends far beyond any single achievement. After graduation, Colton plans to channel his work ethic into a career as a diesel mechanic. He gives special thanks to Mr. Sabo and Mr. Friess, whose guidance in the weight room helped mold not just his strength, but his character.
